Rock ‘n’ Roll Dublin Half Marathon
Rock ‘n’ Roll Dublin Half Marathon benefiting SeriousFun Children’s Network
The inaugural Rock ‘n’ Roll Dublin Half Marathon benefiting SeriousFun Children’s Network stormed through the capital on Monday, 5th of August, with 6500 athletes from 52 countries taking on the 13.1 mile challenge. Minister of Transport, Tourism and Sport Leo Varadkar took to the start line to mark the official start of the race, along with Rock ‘n’ Roll Dublin Half Marathon ambassadors Roz Purcell and Ciaran Whelan, along with 3300 other Irish participants from all over the country. Everyone got to experience some of the city’s historic landmarks: setting off from St Stephen’s Green South, runners headed by St Patrick’s Cathedral, Christ Church, down the quay’s past the Guinness Brewery, up into Phoenix Park, past Kilmainham Gaol with a fast finish back to the National Concert Hall on Earlsfort Terrace. It was mighty craic as the bands kept runners movin’ and groovin’ to the finish line festival where the Delorentos rocked the crowds.
Huge thanks to all of our partners, sponsors and volunteers – the event wouldn’t have been a success without you!
